what to expect
1. How do I get there?
Friendship is in a very accessible part of Knox County. Get there in less than 15 minutes from much of the county and surrounding areas, including Oak Ridge and Farragut. Located on Ball Camp Pike between Oak Ridge Highway and Middlebrook Pike, Friendship sits in the midst of two growing communities, Karns and Ball Camp. Click here for specific directions.
2. Where do I park?
The front lot, most especially the front row, is reserved for our guests. Feel free to take advantage of these spots that are located very close to the front door. Enter the main entrance at the double glass doors where someone will greet you and make sure you find appropriate childcare rooms, a cup of coffee, and a seat in the worship center.
3. Where do my kids go?
Children birth to 5 years old have a children’s church program designed for their specific ages. A paging system is in place to alert parents if their little ones need special attention during the service. Additionally, parents will be issued a security tag that must be presented to pick up their child to ensure security and safety. Elementary aged children have an exciting environment just for them that combines energetic music, hands-on object lessons, multi-media and more. Click here for more about pre-school ministry and here for more about the elementary group.
4. What is a service like?
Contemporary music that is upbeat and genuiune is led by a live praise band while the sermons are designed to help you in life, not just on Sundays. Through videos, dramas, music and more, a service at Friendship will change the way you view church forever and help you better understand what living life is all about.
5. What do I wear?
That's totally up to you. With a casual, laid back atmosphere and young congregation, the dress tends to reflect that. You'll see everything from jeans and t-shirts to shirts and ties. Our rule of thumb is this - come as you are and come comfortable! We want you to meet God, not impress people.
6. How do I become a member?
Those interested in joining Friendship first attend the Friendship 101, offered several times throughout the year. We do this so you can have the opportunity to hear all about Friendship's ministries, beliefs, vision and future before totally committing to membership. Other than attending this session, the only requirement is that members be baptized believers and followers of Christ.
